After a day at the races throwing my money away on that equine miscreant Harchibald , dinner in Turners restaurant was the perfect finale – the food is a mix of Irish and Mediterranean cuisine, offered with a comprehensive wine list . I can think of no more wonderful way to spend a few days than relaxing in the Villa Spa by morning and cheering on the finest throughbreds in Ireland all afternoon, before finishing with a glass of Irish whiskey in the drowsy warmth of the bar.

But mercifully this really was fabulous. Right then it’s a new spa, and at the moment in Ireland new spas seem to be opening every hour on the hour. And they’re all meant to be “ Fabulous” but this one really is.
