I loved my most recent stay there. Parking was easy and plentiful. Checking in was pleasant and painless, all the staff were helpful and courteous, and my room had everything that we love - large comfortable bed, excellent linen, spacious bathroom, power shower, stand alone bath, top class toiletries, iron and ironing-board, plenty of mirrors, comfortable robes and good furniture for both working and relaxing. And then there was the free broadband. A very helpful porter helped me reconfigure my troublesome laptop, and I was able to work away in the privacy of my own lovely room during my stay.

The Villa Spa had to be investigated. A later addition to the hotel, this is incredibly popular with guests and members alike, and besides the numerous treatments, the relaxation room is design delight!

After a day at the races throwing my money away on that equine miscreant Harchibald , dinner in Turners restaurant was the perfect finale – the food is a mix of Irish and Mediterranean cuisine, offered with a comprehensive wine list . I can think of no more wonderful way to spend a few days than relaxing in the Villa Spa by morning and cheering on the finest throughbreds in Ireland all afternoon, before finishing with a glass of Irish whiskey in the drowsy warmth of the bar.

Country Review – June 2005

The Villa Spa it has over 18 treatment rooms , each with its own design theme , including a hammam room a Balinese teak room and a red flower room. The selection is as inventive as the rooms in a Tokyo love hotel.

One of the suites in the manor house called after the La Sainte Nun’s , overlooking the ornamental gardens, is worth booking. The Professionals at Villa Spa in the Killashee House Hotel promise you “ a journey of total well-being for the body, mind and soul” and they truly deliver!

If you’re looking for a bolthole to call your own then make sure to plan an escape to the Villa Spa at the Killashee House Hotel. Not only do you get an immediate feeling of relaxation and escape once you walk through their doors, but the treatment rooms are finished to such a high standard it’s hard to believe you’re in Co Kildare and not the Caribbean.

Once I got between the sheets, I never wanted to leave : a key ingredient for a romantic weekend way. As for the spa, full marks to whoever designed its imaginative lush interior.

With its two AA fine dining Rosette Awards for its creative cuisine, Turners Restaurant is an added bonus for Spa visitors. We had a truly fantastic meal before retiring to the Nun’s Kitchen Bar for the night.

The Villa Spa is a truly sensory experience. Their treatments are well thought out to complement each other.

They said it would be fabulous and immediately I was sceptical. I’m used to being told things are “Fabulous” , getting terribly excited and then discovering that actually , they’re quite crap. But mercifully this really was fabulous. Right then it’s a new spa, and at the moment in Ireland new spas seem to be opening every hour on the hour. And they’re all meant to be “ Fabulous” but this one really is.

My experience at the Villa Spa was exceptional and the treatments were great but , more importantly, the atmosphere was welcoming and the staff friendly and very professional. Which is what you must have to make the spa experience work for you. I can’t wait to return.

COSAC has been very fortunate to have access to some superb venues over the years. For 2002 we tested a number of venues within easy reach of Dublin and Killashee House came out a clear favourite on service levels and attitude. It turned out to be a good decision! So impressed were we with the service received that during our 2002 event participants made gift presentations to Odhran Lawlor (Killashee General Manager) and his entire management team and provided a standing ovation for the kitchen staff. Venue feedback was unrivalled with one participant reporting 'The best food I have ever eaten. Anywhere!' "
