This week the team in Killashee House Hotel were honoured to be invited by Failte Ireland to the launch of The Grand Tour. So what is it? Originally in the 1660’s the concept of grand tour was that privileged 'young men of means' would take a tour of Europe to soak up it's culture and educational delights. Now we have our own modern day ‘Grand Tour’ in Kildare and Wicklow in the form of a series of fun, quirky and beautiful new driving routes including established routes such as the Gordon Bennett and new scenic circuits such as “the great plains of the Curragh” and “Pilgrims, Saints & Scholars”.
